Welcome to the "Clos de la Croix"
It is in the heart of the medieval and preserved town of Bayeux, in Calvados, that we invite you to stay in our charming guest house "le Clos de la Croix", an authentic private mansion, built in 1752.
Capital of Bessin, located a few kilometers from the landing beaches, Bayeux was the first city that Operation Overlord liberated and one of the few in Normandy to have remained intact after the fighting of the Battle of Normandy, thus preserving a rich architectural and cultural heritage.
A city of art and history, Bayeux has preserved the authenticity of its medieval past, with its sumptuous cathedral (11th century), its half-timbered houses, its cobbled streets, its water wheels, giving it a timeless charm. Bayeux, with its many private mansions, is an architectural gem.
Our guest house will be an ideal stopover as a starting point for many visits and tourist activities in the region, from the Landing Beaches to the very famous Bayeux Tapestry (listed in the UNESCO “Memory of the World” register), passing by Mont St Michel (a UNESCO listed village), Honfleur and the Côte Fleurie.
